Anchor “Imran Riaz Khan” Arrested by Punjab Police at Islamabad Toll Plaza
According to details, the
journalist was taken into custody by Rangers and police personnel. Talking to
ARY News, Imran Riaz Khan's lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq said that his client has
been taken into custody from Islamabad Toll Plaza.
He said that according to
the clear instructions of the Islamabad High Court, Imran Riaz Khan could not
be taken into custody and termed the arrest as contempt of court.
Mian Ali said that so far
40 FIRs have been registered against Imran Riaz Khan who has
sought bail from the Islamabad High Court.
Earlier, several FIRs
were registered against journalists in different cities including Muzaffargarh
and Sargodha.
According to the
allegations, this act of Anchor is a serious crime and a violation of the
Constitution as it has hurt the feelings of Pakistani citizens.
